1. The Value Of Precious Faith

God has given me thoughts for these devotions from many sources through the years. Sometimes a sermon, a Bible verse, or song inspires me with ideas. The Lord has also used things I’ve seen or heard to spark a devotional object lesson. Last week God used the message at a funeral to give us our new theme, “Precious”. Pastor Rick Byerly was officiating the funeral of a dear, precious lady from our church. He began talking about things that were precious to her. Her family was dear and precious to her. Our family and relationships are also precious to us. Next, he mentioned that her friends were precious. The fellowship we have with our friends is truly precious. Then, he explained the value of her faith, the foundation of our beliefs and our walk with God. Let’s look into God’s Word and find things that are precious.

“6 Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations:
7 That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:
8 Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory:
9 Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.” (I Peter 1:6-9)

2. Something Precious In The Sight Of The Lord

As Pastor Byerly continued with his encouraging message he read Psalm 116:15, “Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints.” When someone we love dies, who had that precious faith in Jesus, then we who remain can experience peace in the midst of our sorrow. In death our body is left behind, but our soul goes to heaven to be with Jesus forever.

“1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.
2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.
4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
5 And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.
6 And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.
7 He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.” (Revelation 21:1-7)

3. Something Better Than Precious Stones

If we made a list of precious things of the earth we might begin with precious gold and silver, metals that are precious in their expense, in their beauty, and precious in being rare. We could then move on to the precious stones which are also beautiful and rare. King David gathered precious stones to be used in the house of the Lord. The Queen of Sheba visited King Solomon and gave him precious stones. The foundation of New Jerusalem in Revelation 21 is made of precious stones. One of those stones is an emerald. My birthstone is an emerald and I have never had a real, valuable, emerald. I’m not wealthy with diamonds, and rubies, and other precious stones, but God’s Word tells us that wisdom is better than precious stones. “Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding. For the merchandise of it is better than the merchandise of silver, and the gain thereof than fine gold. She is more precious than rubies: and all the things thou canst desire are not to be compared unto her.” (Proverbs 3:13-15) “For wisdom is better than rubies; and all the things that may be desired are not to be compared to it.” (Proverbs 8:11) And in the last chapter of Proverbs we see that a virtuous woman is more valuable than rubies. We may not be rich with precious stones, but we can be rich in wisdom and goodness.

“10 Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.
11 The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil.
12 She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life.
13 She seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands.
14 She is like the merchants' ships; she bringeth her food from afar.
15 She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her household, and a portion to her maidens.
16 She considereth a field, and buyeth it: with the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard.
17 She girdeth her loins with strength, and strengtheneth her arms.
18 She perceiveth that her merchandise is good: her candle goeth not out by night.
19 She layeth her hands to the spindle, and her hands hold the distaff.
20 She stretcheth out her hand to the poor; yea, she reacheth forth her hands to the needy.
21 She is not afraid of the snow for her household: for all her household are clothed with scarlet.
22 She maketh herself coverings of tapestry; her clothing is silk and purple.
23 Her husband is known in the gates, when he sitteth among the elders of the land.
24 She maketh fine linen, and selleth it; and delivereth girdles unto the merchant.
25 Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come.
26 She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness.
27 She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness.
28 Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.
29 Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all.
30 Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised.” (Proverbs 31:10-30)

4. Some Precious Things From Heaven And Earth

If you had all the precious gems and wealth of the world and could not get anything to eat, what good would it do you? Our next verses show that there are more things which come from heaven and the earth that are more precious than gold. Moses blessed the Children of Israel before he died. He blessed Joseph with the precious things of the earth. My garden has been a challenge this year. We began with so much rain it was weeks before I could get in to pull weeds and give the vegetables a chance to grow. Then, we went weeks without rain and watered the garden every 3 or 4 days. (I am thankful that I had water to do this, and for the 5 inches of rain that fell recently.) We have been fighting against bugs. The squirrels ate a large portion of the corn and something is eating my cantaloupes. We have also had excessive heat. With the heat index exceeding 100 degrees the plants have stopped blooming. But, even with the challenges we have faced this year with our garden, I still consider every bean, squash, cucumber, okra and tomato a blessing from the Lord! These things are precious to me and it has been worth the hard work and prayer to taste the goodness of the Lord! “O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.” (Psalm 34:8)

“13 And of Joseph he said, Blessed of the LORD be his land, for the precious things of heaven, for the dew, and for the deep that coucheth beneath,
14 And for the precious fruits brought forth by the sun, and for the precious things put forth by the moon,
15 And for the chief things of the ancient mountains, and for the precious things of the lasting hills,
16 And for the precious things of the earth and fulness thereof, and for the good will of him that dwelt in the bush: let the blessing come upon the head of Joseph, and upon the top of the head of him that was separated from his brethren.” (Deuteronomy 33:13-16)

5. Precious Memories

Tuesday we went to the funeral of another precious friend. I’ve known Linda over 40 years. We often sat and talked together before church services. She loved to garden and always had answers for my questions. I already miss this precious friend. I am thankful for the precious memories I have. I can say with Paul, “I thank my God upon every remembrance of you,” (Philippians 1:3) Did you know that the Lord has a book of remembrance written for those that think upon his name? “Then they that feared the LORD spake often one to another: and the LORD hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the LORD, and that thought upon his name.” (Malachi 3:16) Also, God tells us that He thinks of us! “How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them!” (Psalm 139:17) I am so glad that we have precious memories.

“Precious memories, how they linger,
How they ever flood my soul;
In the stillness of the midnight,
Precious sacred, scenes unfold.” (by J. B. F. Wright in 1923)

6. Bearing Precious Seed

Back in the days when families depended on the food that they grew, and the animals that they tended and raised, it took diligence and hard work to survive. People didn’t waste anything, and everything they had was precious to them. My mom has quilts that her mother made from scraps of material. I remember the wooden racks outside the house that held the empty canning jars to use again the next year. She told us how she gathered clover blossoms when she was a child and spread them out in the hot attic to dry so they could be planted. Seed was precious. We read in Psalm 126:5-6, “They that sow in tears shall reap in joy. He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.” We have the words of Jesus and we know that the Word of God is also referred to as seed. Even when it seems like no one hears, we are to sow the precious seed and tell others about Jesus, and let God give the increase.
“1 The same day went Jesus out of the house, and sat by the sea side.
2 And great multitudes were gathered together unto him, so that he went into a ship, and sat; and the whole multitude stood on the shore.
3 And he spake many things unto them in parables, saying, Behold, a sower went forth to sow;
4 And when he sowed, some seeds fell by the way side, and the fowls came and devoured them up:
5 Some fell upon stony places, where they had not much earth: and forthwith they sprung up, because they had no deepness of earth:
6 And when the sun was up, they were scorched; and because they had no root, they withered away.
7 And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprung up, and choked them:
8 But other fell into good ground, and brought forth fruit, some an hundredfold, some sixtyfold, some thirtyfold.
9 Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.
18 Hear ye therefore the parable of the sower.
19 When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, then cometh the wicked one, and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart. This is he which received seed by the way side.
20 But he that received the seed into stony places, the same is he that heareth the word, and anon with joy receiveth it;
21 Yet hath he not root in himself, but dureth for a while: for when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, by and by he is offended.
22 He also that received seed among the thorns is he that heareth the word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful.
23 But he that received seed into the good ground is he that heareth the word, and understandeth it; which also beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some an hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.” (Matthew 13:1-9 & 18-23)

7. Mary Offered Her Precious Ointment

Do we give our most precious things to the Lord? Mary of Bethany broke her very precious alabaster box of ointment of spikenard and anointed the head of Jesus. I have read that it was worth a year’s salary. But, Mary was willing to give this very precious ointment to the Lord. We may not have anything worth that much that we can give to the Lord, but we can give Him something that is precious to us. Our time may be one of the most precious things we have. Do we give Him our time? Many people in our society today make a lot of money with their talent. Do we give our talent to the Lord? We may feel that our tithe is not much, but remember that Jesus complimented the widow who gave a very small amount. “And he saw also a certain poor widow casting in thither two mites And he said, Of a truth I say unto you, that this poor widow hath cast in more than they all: For all these have of their abundance cast in unto the offerings of God: but she of her penury hath cast in all the living that she had.” (Luke 21:2-4) Jesus said of Mary, “She hath done what she could…” Are we doing what we can for the Lord?

“3 And being in Bethany in the house of Simon the leper, as he sat at meat, there came a woman having an alabaster box of ointment of spikenard very precious; and she brake the box, and poured it on his head.
4 And there were some that had indignation within themselves, and said, Why was this waste of the ointment made?
5 For it might have been sold for more than three hundred pence, and have been given to the poor. And they murmured against her.
6 And Jesus said, Let her alone; why trouble ye her? she hath wrought a good work on me.
7 For ye have the poor with you always, and whensoever ye will ye may do them good: but me ye have not always.
8 She hath done what she could: she is come aforehand to anoint my body to the burying.
9 Verily I say unto you, Wheresoever this gospel shall be preached throughout the whole world, this also that she hath done shall be spoken of for a memorial of her.” (Mark 14:3-9)

8. God Sees Every Precious Thing

Job is said to be the oldest book of the Bible. Job describes things that lived on earth that we can only imagine. He speaks of unicorns, dragons, and leviathan that breathed fire, and behemoth that moved his tail like a cedar. In chapter 28 Job tells of some of the precious things in the earth and how they are hidden from man. “He cutteth out rivers among the rocks; and his eye seeth every precious thing.” (Job 28:10) There are so many precious things in the earth that men and women search for. In verse 12 Job asks, “But where shall wisdom be found? and where is the place of understanding?” He concludes this chapter with the source of true wisdom. “And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding.” (Job 28:28) What an amazing chapter on precious things!

“1 Surely there is a vein for the silver, and a place for gold where they fine it.
2 Iron is taken out of the earth, and brass is molten out of the stone.
3 He setteth an end to darkness, and searcheth out all perfection: the stones of darkness, and the shadow of death.
4 The flood breaketh out from the inhabitant; even the waters forgotten of the foot: they are dried up, they are gone away from men.
5 As for the earth, out of it cometh bread: and under it is turned up as it were fire.
6 The stones of it are the place of sapphires: and it hath dust of gold.
7 There is a path which no fowl knoweth, and which the vulture's eye hath not seen:
8 The lion's whelps have not trodden it, nor the fierce lion passed by it.
9 He putteth forth his hand upon the rock; he overturneth the mountains by the roots.
10 He cutteth out rivers among the rocks; and his eye seeth every precious thing.
11 He bindeth the floods from overflowing; and the thing that is hid bringeth he forth to light.
12 But where shall wisdom be found? and where is the place of understanding?
13 Man knoweth not the price thereof; neither is it found in the land of the living.
14 The depth saith, It is not in me: and the sea saith, It is not with me.
15 It cannot be gotten for gold, neither shall silver be weighed for the price thereof.
16 It cannot be valued with the gold of Ophir, with the precious onyx, or the sapphire.
17 The gold and the crystal cannot equal it: and the exchange of it shall not be for jewels of fine gold.
18 No mention shall be made of coral, or of pearls: for the price of wisdom is above rubies.
19 The topaz of Ethiopia shall not equal it, neither shall it be valued with pure gold.
20 Whence then cometh wisdom? and where is the place of understanding?
21 Seeing it is hid from the eyes of all living, and kept close from the fowls of the air.
22 Destruction and death say, We have heard the fame thereof with our ears.
23 God understandeth the way thereof, and he knoweth the place thereof.
24 For he looketh to the ends of the earth, and seeth under the whole heaven;
25 To make the weight for the winds; and he weigheth the waters by measure.
26 When he made a decree for the rain, and a way for the lightning of the thunder:
27 Then did he see it, and declare it; he prepared it, yea, and searched it out.
28 And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding.” (Job 28)

9. Precious Blood

We are saved through the precious blood of Christ!

“17 And if ye call on the Father, who without respect of persons judgeth according to every man's work, pass the time of your sojourning here in fear:
18 Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers;
19 But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:
20 Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you,
21 Who by him do believe in God, that raised him up from the dead, and gave him glory; that your faith and hope might be in God.” (I Peter 1:17-21)

I think this song was written by Lanny Wolfe. I am so glad for the precious blood of Jesus!

“Precious Blood”

So many years, so many lambs were offered up.
But the blood that was shed, could never fill that bitter cup.
Till one spotless Lamb, in the form of man, gave His life on Calvary,
This was the only blood that could ever set me free.

Chorus:
For His blood was not just blood of another spotless lamb,
But His blood was precious blood, for it washed the sins of man
And His blood, it heals my body and it sets my spirit free
I'm so glad His precious blood still flows from Calvary.

No other blood could heal my broken body
And no other blood could save my sin sick soul
No other blood could conquer death and win the victory
No other blood, but the blood Jesus shed for me

10. Children Are Precious

It is such a joy to be around our children and their families. Our grandchildren hold a special place in my heart. I also love to see children at church! Children are special! I was taught the song, “Jesus Loves The Little Children” when I was very young. It was written by Clarence Herbert Woolston and published in 1913. He wanted his ministry to reach out to all little children.

“Jesus loves the little children,
All the children of the world.
Red and yellow, black and white,
All are precious in His sight,
Jesus loves the little children of the world.”

“13 And they brought young children to him, that he should touch them: and his disciples rebuked those that brought them.
14 But when Jesus saw it, he was much displeased, and said unto them, Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.
15 Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein.
16 And he took them up in his arms, put his hands upon them, and blessed them.” (Mark 10:13-16)

11. The Word Of The Lord Is Precious

I’ve read stories of foreign lands where the people didn’t have many copies of the Bible and they would take out pages to read over and over again because the Word of God was precious to them. I have several copies of the Bible because the covers come off over time and I won’t throw them away. I have them in various places in the house and I can pick one up when I want to read it or look up a certain scripture. When we went so long without rain, water was precious. We poured buckets of water around the plants to try to keep them alive. It has rained several inches lately and we no longer think about needing rain. I hope it is not that way with God’s Word. Those who don’t have a Bible think it is very precious and will spend time reading what portion they have. On the opposite side of the spectrum, there may be others who have several copies of the Bible and they no longer think about needing it. The Bible is our guide book. Without God’s Word we would be just as lost as we would be in a foreign place without a map. We need the light of God’s Word in these dark days. Our scripture today begins, “And the child Samuel ministered unto the LORD before Eli. And the word of the LORD was precious in those days; there was no open vision.” (I Samuel 3:1) God told little Samuel what He was going to do. God tells us in His Word what He is going to do. And He will follow through with every word, just as we read towards the end of this chapter. “And Samuel grew, and the LORD was with him, and did let none of his words fall to the ground.” (I Samuel 3:19)

“2 And it came to pass at that time, when Eli was laid down in his place, and his eyes began to wax dim, that he could not see;
3 And ere the lamp of God went out in the temple of the LORD, where the ark of God was, and Samuel was laid down to sleep;
4 That the LORD called Samuel: and he answered, Here am I.
5 And he ran unto Eli, and said, Here am I; for thou calledst me. And he said, I called not; lie down again. And he went and lay down.
6 And the LORD called yet again, Samuel. And Samuel arose and went to Eli, and said, Here am I; for thou didst call me. And he answered, I called not, my son; lie down again.
7 Now Samuel did not yet know the LORD, neither was the word of the LORD yet revealed unto him.
8 And the LORD called Samuel again the third time. And he arose and went to Eli, and said, Here am I; for thou didst call me. And Eli perceived that the LORD had called the child.
9 Therefore Eli said unto Samuel, Go, lie down: and it shall be, if he call thee, that thou shalt say, Speak, LORD; for thy servant heareth. So Samuel went and lay down in his place.
10 And the LORD came, and stood, and called as at other times, Samuel, Samuel. Then Samuel answered, Speak; for thy servant heareth.
11 And the LORD said to Samuel, Behold, I will do a thing in Israel, at which both the ears of every one that heareth it shall tingle.
12 In that day I will perform against Eli all things which I have spoken concerning his house: when I begin, I will also make an end.
13 For I have told him that I will judge his house for ever for the iniquity which he knoweth; because his sons made themselves vile, and he restrained them not.
14 And therefore I have sworn unto the house of Eli, that the iniquity of Eli's house shall not be purged with sacrifice nor offering for ever.
15 And Samuel lay until the morning, and opened the doors of the house of the LORD. And Samuel feared to shew Eli the vision.
16 Then Eli called Samuel, and said, Samuel, my son. And he answered, Here am I.
17 And he said, What is the thing that the LORD hath said unto thee? I pray thee hide it not from me: God do so to thee, and more also, if thou hide any thing from me of all the things that he said unto thee.
18 And Samuel told him every whit, and hid nothing from him. And he said, It is the LORD: let him do what seemeth him good.
19 And Samuel grew, and the LORD was with him, and did let none of his words fall to the ground.
20 And all Israel from Dan even to Beersheba knew that Samuel was established to be a prophet of the LORD.
21 And the LORD appeared again in Shiloh: for the LORD revealed himself to Samuel in Shiloh by the word of the LORD.” (I Samuel 3)

12. A Precious Corner Stone

My grandparents’ house is very old. My grandmother was only 8 years old when they used a horse and wagon to move into the house. I liked hearing the stories she told about her childhood. When she first saw an airplane, she ran and hid under an apple tree. There was also a big barn. She said that the cows roamed the vast acres, and they fenced in the garden to keep the animals out. At the end of the day the cows returned to the barn. My sisters and I liked to play under the house, which sits on a rock foundation. At each corner and the center of the walls are large stones set solid and secure. The house has stood for all these years. Many years ago my grandmother told of a woman that had been born in the house and would have been over 100 years old. The house still stands and you can see the rock foundation. The Bible tells us that Jesus is the precious corner stone. He is The Foundation of everything that I believe and live my life for. He is my salvation and I am safe and secure. Even when the things of this earth falter and fail, Jesus is always the same, yesterday, today, and forever. “Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste.” (Isaiah 28:16)

“1 Wherefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speakings,
2 As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:
3 If so be ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious.
4 To whom coming, as unto a living stone, disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God, and precious,
5 Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.
6 Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded.
7 Unto you therefore which believe he is precious: but unto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner,
8 And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed.
9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:
10 Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.” (I Peter 2:1-10)

13. Building On Our Precious Foundation

Christ is our precious foundation. We are saved by faith and not by any work that we can do. But, after we are saved we are to work for the Lord and build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones. Our time here on earth is short. Let’s make good use of the precious time we have and work for the Lord.

“8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.” (Ephesians 2:8-10)

“9 For we are labourers together with God: ye are God's husbandry, ye are God's building.
10 According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon.
11 For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
12 Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble;
13 Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is.
14 If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.
15 If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.
16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?
17 If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.” (I Corinthians 3:5-17)

14. Precious Promises

We can make promises and sometimes things happen that cause us not to be able to fulfill these promises. We don’t have control over time, but God does. We don’t have control over the weather, but God does. We don’t have control over what happens in a day, but God does. We can try to live for the Lord and put Him first in our lives, and live up to our promises, but problems may come up with our health, finances, family, or many other things that make us not able to keep our promises. But God Almighty is in control over all of heaven and earth. He is from everlasting past to everlasting future, the Alpha and Omega, and all His promises are sure. “Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)” (Hebrews 10:23) And His promises are precious! “Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.” (II Peter 1:4) God’s Word gives us the promise of everlasting life, and a home in heaven. And there are so many more!

“16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.” (John 3:16-18)

“In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began;” (Titus 1:2)

“And this is the promise that he hath promised us, even eternal life.” (I John 2:25)

“1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
2 In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
4 And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.
5 Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way?
6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” (John 14:1-6)

15. More Precious Promises

Several years ago I found “Precious Promises From God” and went 100 days with scriptures from God’s Word. I’m sure there are many more promises from the Lord that I didn’t find. Here are some of the precious promises that we have from our loving God.

“And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.” Matthew 28:18-20

“Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.” (Jeremiah 33:3)

“28 Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding.
29 He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.
30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall:
31 But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” (Isaiah 40:28-31)

“Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.” Malachi 3:10

“Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again." Luke 6:38

“He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds." Psalm 147:3

"And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last." Revelation 22:12 & 13

"Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths." Proverbs 3:5-6

"Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool." Isaiah 1:18

“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose." Romans 8:28

"Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart." Psalm 37:4

"I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye." Psalm 32:8

"Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth." Psalm 46:10

"Evening, and morning, and at noon, will I pray, and cry aloud: and he shall hear my voice." Psalm 55:17

"Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away." Matthew 24:35
"And this is the promise that he hath promised us, even eternal life." I John 2:25
