15. You Can Be The One
1. “There Is A Man”
Pastor Rick Byerly preached a sermon on, “There Is A Man”, recently from the fifth chapter of the book of Daniel. As I thought about the sermon through the week I remembered several examples in the Bible that we can look at and say, “Be The One.” It is so easy to follow the crowd, but often the crowd is going the wrong way. We need to be the one to follow Jesus! Let’s look at some of these Bible stories and let them encourage us to “Be The One!”
2. Be The One Who Is Led By The Spirit Of God
Belshazzar, the king of Babylon, made a great feast to a thousand of his lords. They drank wine from the golden vessels that King Nebuchadnezzar had taken from Jerusalem and praised their false gods. “In the same hour came forth fingers of a man's hand, and wrote over against the candlestick upon the plaister of the wall of the king's palace: and the king saw the part of the hand that wrote. Then the king's countenance was changed, and his thoughts troubled him, so that the joints of his loins were loosed, and his knees smote one against another.” (Daniel 5:5-6) The king called for the wise men of Babylon, but they could not read the writing. The queen heard about it and went to the banquet house and told King Belshazzar not to be troubled by the hand writing on the wall. She said, “There is a man in thy kingdom, in whom is the spirit of the holy gods; and in the days of thy father light and understanding and wisdom, like the wisdom of the gods, was found in him; whom the king Nebuchadnezzar thy father, the king, I say, thy father, made master of the magicians, astrologers, Chaldeans, and soothsayers; Forasmuch as an excellent spirit, and knowledge, and understanding, interpreting of dreams, and shewing of hard sentences, and dissolving of doubts, were found in the same Daniel, whom the king named Belteshazzar: now let Daniel be called, and he will shew the interpretation.” (Daniel 5:11-12) If we are saved, we have the Spirit of God. The queen knew who to turn to when there was a problem. When the people in our circle have a problem, do they know who to turn to? Has anyone ever reached out to you with confidence that you could help him or her? Do people ask you to pray for them? We can be the one who has the Spirit of God. Daniel reminded Belshazzar how King Nebuchadnezzar had lifted himself up in pride and God humbled him. Daniel told the king the meaning of the writing on the wall. When troubles come to those around us, be the one they can turn to for help from God.
“22 And thou his son, O Belshazzar, hast not humbled thine heart, though thou knewest all this;
23 But hast lifted up thyself against the Lord of heaven; and they have brought the vessels of his house before thee, and thou, and thy lords, thy wives, and thy concubines, have drunk wine in them; and thou hast praised the gods of silver, and gold, of brass, iron, wood, and stone, which see not, nor hear, nor know: and the God in whose hand thy breath is, and whose are all thy ways, hast thou not glorified:
24 Then was the part of the hand sent from him; and this writing was written.
25 And this is the writing that was written, MENE, MENE, TEKEL, UPHARSIN.
26 This is the interpretation of the thing: MENE; God hath numbered thy kingdom, and finished it.
27 TEKEL; Thou art weighed in the balances, and art found wanting.
28 PERES; Thy kingdom is divided, and given to the Medes and Persians.
29 Then commanded Belshazzar, and they clothed Daniel with scarlet, and put a chain of gold about his neck, and made a proclamation concerning him, that he should be the third ruler in the kingdom.
30 In that night was Belshazzar the king of the Chaldeans slain.
31 And Darius the Median took the kingdom, being about threescore and two years old.” (Daniel 5:22-31)
3. Be The One To Pray For Children And Parents And Teachers
Many of the children in our area are going back to school today. While it can be exciting for some, others will be stressed at the thought of starting another school year. They will face challenges, and some will be put in situations that my generation never had to face. Drugs, lack of respect, and bullying are real problems that many of the students and teachers are up against. Teachers not only have the job of teaching the students, but they also have to watch over the classroom and safety of the children. So, today, I am encouraging you to be the one to pray for the children and their parents and teachers. Pray for the children who are going to school. Pray that the Lord will watch over them and protect them. Pray that He will ease their anxiety and give them peace. Pray that the children will have friends and be kind to one another. Pray for the parents as they leave their children at school. Pray for the teachers and staff. Pray that God will give them the wisdom they need to teach, and help them be good examples to the children. There are also parents who have chosen to homeschool their children, instead of sending them to public school. Pray for those parents as they plan the lessons and teach their children. Pray that the Lord will give them wisdom, resilience, and guidance. Pray for the children, for their understanding, that they will grow and learn the things they need to prepare for their future. Jesus took the time to bless the children. You can be the one to pray for children and teachers today.
“13 And they brought young children to him, that he should touch them: and his disciples rebuked those that brought them.
14 But when Jesus saw it, he was much displeased, and said unto them, Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.
15 Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein.
16 And he took them up in his arms, put his hands upon them, and blessed them.” (Mark 10:13-16)
4. Be The One To Use Your Talents For The Lord
Jesus told a parable about a man who traveled to a far country and he gave talents to his servants. In the story, “talents” is actually money. But, we are going to use this as an object lesson and let talents represent the talents the Lord has given us. Forty some years ago I sat at our church Christmas play practice and watched as my friends prepared for the Christmas play. I saw how the Lord was using them and I wanted the Lord to use me, but I was holding my baby and not able to participate. It wasn’t until many, many years later that I fully understood how God was using me to raise my children, and that was the most important duty I had at the time. As they grew older, the Lord began to use me to sing and play the piano, and assist Michael with the Jr. group at church. As the years passed, the Lord allowed me to write and direct several plays at church. God has shown me that as I used the talents He gave me for His glory, He continued to show me more talents that I could use for Him. I want to encourage you to be the one to use your talents for the Lord. As you read this parable of Jesus, notice that the ones who had talents and used them, gained more talents, and the one who began with only one talent hid his talent and lost it. I hope that we can look at examples over these two weeks as we try to “Be The One…” You probably can’t be the one in every example, but I hope that you will try each day to be the one for that day. You may find that you have many more talents than you thought, and that with each new day you can add another talent that you can use for the Lord.
“15 And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one; to every man according to his several ability; and straightway took his journey.
16 Then he that had received the five talents went and traded with the same, and made them other five talents.
17 And likewise he that had received two, he also gained other two.
18 But he that had received one went and digged in the earth, and hid his lord's money.
19 After a long time the lord of those servants cometh, and reckoneth with them.
20 And so he that had received five talents came and brought other five talents, saying, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me five talents: behold, I have gained beside them five talents more.
21 His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.
22 He also that had received two talents came and said, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me two talents: behold, I have gained two other talents beside them.
23 His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.
24 Then he which had received the one talent came and said, Lord, I knew thee that thou art an hard man, reaping where thou hast not sown, and gathering where thou hast not strawed:
25 And I was afraid, and went and hid thy talent in the earth: lo, there thou hast that is thine.
26 His lord answered and said unto him, Thou wicked and slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where I sowed not, and gather where I have not strawed:
27 Thou oughtest therefore to have put my money to the exchangers, and then at my coming I should have received mine own with usury.
28 Take therefore the talent from him, and give it unto him which hath ten talents.
29 For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that hath not shall be taken away even that which he hath.” (Matthew 25:15-29)
5. Be The One Who Cares
A few weeks ago there were some men and women working, and some directing traffic, at the end of our church driveway. I felt that the Lord was leading me to give them tracts and invite them to church. I always wonder what to say to someone when I hand them a tract. This time the Lord spoke to my heart and told me to tell them that I care for their soul. There is a very sad verse in the book of Psalms that says, “I looked on my right hand, and beheld, but there was no man that would know me: refuge failed me; no man cared for my soul.” (Psalm 142:4) As I handed each one a salvation tract I told them that there is a verse in Psalms that says, “no man cared for my soul” and I wanted them to know that I care for their souls. I pray for them and hope that they will read the tracts, and ask the Lord to save them. I also look around often at church and hope to see them. Many people are hurting. Many people are lost and will die without Christ if they don’t call on Jesus before they die. We need to let people know that we care. There is a saying that goes, “No one cares how much you know until they know how much you care.” We need to care for the lost. Be the one to show someone that you care!
6. Be The One To Stand In The Gap
In Ezekiel 22 God tells Ezekiel of the sin of the land. He proclaims the wrongdoing of the prophets, the priests, the princes, and finally, the people. Then, God said, “And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none.” (Ezekiel 22:30) I think of this verse when I hear about a faithful saint that has died. And I wonder, “Who will take his place to teach Sunday School?” “Who will take her place to sing in the choir?” As Christian men and women, who prayed for our church and our country, and lived for the Lord, die and move on to heaven, we need to “make up the hedge, and stand in the gap.” I’m getting older and I can’t do what I once could do, but I can still pray. And I can still encourage those who are able to do the work. I want to encourage you today to stand in the gap. If you see something that needs to be done for the Lord, fill in the gap. If someone has left your church and there’s an empty space that needs to be filled, and a work that needs to be done, make up the hedge. Imagine that there is a spiritual hedge about your church and each faithful person has a place to be. There may be a small gap, where trouble could start… be the one and stand in the gap. Be the one to make up the hedge.
7. Be The One To Answer, “Here Am I”
This was one of our favorite Bible stories when our children were growing up. We would let them take turns being Eli and Samuel as we narrated the story. When we look at these two roles, a priest and a little child, we might think that God would speak to the priest before calling the small child. But the Lord called Samuel. Our scripture tells us that "the word of the LORD was precious in those days; there was no open vision." Is the Word of God precious to us today? Do we listen for His call? When He calls, do we respond like little Samuel, "Here am I"? Do we anticipate His call with open ears and heart, "Speak, LORD; for thy servant heareth"? I praise the Lord that He called to me when I was a little child, and I believed in my heart that Jesus died to save me from the punishment of my sin. I received His wonderful gift of salvation. I want to be the one who says, "Speak, LORD; for thy servant heareth" each time He tries to speak to my heart. Have you heard His call? He speaks to us through His holy Word. He can also speak to us through a song, or the words of a teacher or friend. He can speak to us when we are in a church service, or alone in our bed. Listen for His call, and be the one to answer, “Here am I”.
“1 And the child Samuel ministered unto the LORD before Eli. And the word of the LORD was precious in those days; there was no open vision.
2 And it came to pass at that time, when Eli was laid down in his place, and his eyes began to wax dim, that he could not see;
3 And ere the lamp of God went out in the temple of the LORD, where the ark of God was, and Samuel was laid down to sleep;
4 That the LORD called Samuel: and he answered, Here am I.
5 And he ran unto Eli, and said, Here am I; for thou calledst me. And he said, I called not; lie down again. And he went and lay down.
6 And the LORD called yet again, Samuel. And Samuel arose and went to Eli, and said, Here am I; for thou didst call me. And he answered, I called not, my son; lie down again.
7 Now Samuel did not yet know the LORD, neither was the word of the LORD yet revealed unto him.
8 And the LORD called Samuel again the third time. And he arose and went to Eli, and said, Here am I; for thou didst call me. And Eli perceived that the LORD had called the child.
9 Therefore Eli said unto Samuel, Go, lie down: and it shall be, if he call thee, that thou shalt say, Speak, LORD; for thy servant heareth. So Samuel went and lay down in his place.
10 And the LORD came, and stood, and called as at other times, Samuel, Samuel. Then Samuel answered, Speak; for thy servant heareth.” (I Samuel 3:1-10)
8. Be The One To Serve The Lord
In January of last year I found out that I had cancer. I had surgery and went through chemo. My oncologist told me that my resistance would be low and I was not to go anywhere except for my appointments, and not to be around any people. So, I was out of church for months. After it was all over I was glad to be able to spend time with my family, and glad that I could go back to church. My life, physically, and my emotional well being, changed. Chemo had taken its toll on my body, my strength, my mental well being, and my stamina. But, spiritually, I was so grateful to God for bringing me through. I felt closer to the Lord. He helped me continue going through the Bible in our Daily Devotions. And going back to church was such a great joy. I had been watching the services on facebook, but I wanted to be in church to hear the sermon and the songs. I wanted to get well enough to sing again. My church family had sent cards and kept in touch with “Get Well” messages and I wanted to see them again. God used my illness to draw me closer to Him. It gives me such joy to be able to serve my wonderful Lord. I want to share two little verses that speak to me. “And when Jesus was come into Peter's house, he saw his wife's mother laid, and sick of a fever. And he touched her hand, and the fever left her: and she arose, and ministered unto them.” (Matthew 8:14-15) Jesus touched and healed Peter’s mother-in-law, and she got up and served Him. Jesus reached down and touched me. He healed me. And He gave me a greater desire to serve Him by serving others. I am constantly thinking of ways I want to serve Him, especially at church. When I think of something that would be good for our church, I want to be the one to serve the Lord, and to serve our church. In December 2020, after Michael had been through heart surgery and almost died, we spent Christmas in the rehab center. I told him that it was a hard Christmas and he said, “This is the best Christmas!” He had been in the hospital so long. He was spending Christmas doing rehab instead of being with our family. I didn’t understand why he said it was the best Christmas. Then, he said, “Because I am still here.” After going through chemo and almost dying, now, every day seems like the best day! Maybe the Lord has touched your life… be the one to serve Him.
9. Be The One To Stay Faithful To Your Church And Pastor
The second letter to Timothy contains the last written words we have of Paul. As he closes this letter to his "dearly beloved son" Timothy, he expresses his hope to see him again soon. Then he explains that only Luke was with him. It undoubtedly broke his heart to know that Demas forsook not only him, but the gospel message as well. Then, he tells of his Christian brothers who have moved on to other fields of service. We can almost hear the sadness in his voice, as he says, "Only Luke is with me." I want to be one who stays faithful to our church and to the Pastor. How many of our church members no longer come because they would rather be doing things in the world? We also have members who have been called to serve at other places. The rest of us need to stand with our church and Pastor. We need to stay faithful to the Lord and serve Him. Are you going to church today? You can be the one to stay faithful to your church and Pastor.
“6 For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand.
7 I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:
8 Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.
9 Do thy diligence to come shortly unto me:
10 For Demas hath forsaken me, having loved this present world, and is departed unto Thessalonica; Crescens to Galatia, Titus unto Dalmatia.
11 Only Luke is with me. Take Mark, and bring him with thee: for he is profitable to me for the ministry.
12 And Tychicus have I sent to Ephesus.
13 The cloke that I left at Troas with Carpus, when thou comest, bring with thee, and the books, but especially the parchments.
14 Alexander the coppersmith did me much evil: the Lord reward him according to his works:
15 Of whom be thou ware also; for he hath greatly withstood our words.
16 At my first answer no man stood with me, but all men forsook me: I pray God that it may not be laid to their charge.
17 Notwithstanding the Lord stood with me, and strengthened me; that by me the preaching might be fully known, and that all the Gentiles might hear: and I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion.” (II Timothy 4:6-17)
10. Be The One That Worships God
Today we find a man named Justus. There is one verse about him in Acts 18:7. "And he departed thence, and entered into a certain man's house, named Justus, one that worshipped God, whose house joined hard to the synagogue.” Luke gives us only one verse about this man, but he tells us a lot. First, we see that this man, Justus, welcomed Paul into his home. Do we welcome the man of God into our home? If our preacher or Sunday School teacher came to visit would we open our doors and make them feel welcome? We could even ask, is the Lord welcome in our home? Next, we see that Justus is described as "one that worshipped God". These four little words are a great description of the character of this man. We are not told that he gave great sums of money to the temple. We don't read that he preached to the multitudes, or sang before thousands. The words used to describe him tell us that he "worshipped God." This tells me that he was an humble man who gave God the praise and worship that He deserves. We may go to church two or three times a week, and that is good, but do we really worship? We need to "turn off" the thoughts that crowd our minds, and set our eyes on Jesus, and just worship Him. Last of all, we see that his house was next to the synagogue. I think this tells us that Justus wanted to stay close to the house of God. We live in the world, but we should walk as close to God as we can. Don't stray too far away from God's house. We should be faithful and attend the worship services when our church doors open. If your best friend wrote just one sentence to describe you, what would she say? If your pastor plans a special worship service, can he count on you being there? I want to purpose in my heart to be the one that worships God.
11. Be The One To Have Compassion
Jesus told a parable of the Good Samaritan. A man was left for dead on the side of the road and a priest saw him and walked around on the other side of the road. Next, we are told that the Levite "came and looked on him, and passed by on the other side." Then, a Samaritan, who usually had no dealings with the Jews, "came where he was: and when he saw him, he had compassion on him..." Only one of them had compassion on this poor man. This reminds me of how Jesus came to where I was, lost and dying, and had compassion on me. He gave His life to pay for my sin on the cruel cross of Calvary. He continues to take care of me from day to day. If He cares that much for me, how can I not show compassion on those around me? "And of some have compassion, making a difference:" (Jude 22) I want to be the one to have compassion.
“30 And Jesus answering said, A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, which stripped him of his raiment, and wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead.
31 And by chance there came down a certain priest that way: and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side.
32 And likewise a Levite, when he was at the place, came and looked on him, and passed by on the other side.
33 But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was: and when he saw him, he had compassion on him,
34 And went to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine, and set him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him.
35 And on the morrow when he departed, he took out two pence, and gave them to the host, and said unto him, Take care of him; and whatsoever thou spendest more, when I come again, I will repay thee.
36 Which now of these three, thinkest thou, was neighbour unto him that fell among the thieves?
37 And he said, He that shewed mercy on him. Then said Jesus unto him, Go, and do thou likewise.” (Luke 10:30-37)
12. Be The One To Protect What’s Yours
When King David gave his list of mighty men, he mentioned a man named Shammah. “And after him was Shammah the son of Agee the Hararite. And the Philistines were gathered together into a troop, where was a piece of ground full of lentiles: and the people fled from the Philistines. But he stood in the midst of the ground, and defended it, and slew the Philistines: and the LORD wrought a great victory.” (II Samuel 23:11-12) Shammah was a man that stood alone to protect what was his. We need to be the one to protect what is ours. We may not have a field of lentils. But, we have things that we need to protect. We hear a lot about protecting our identity and our privacy. We need to protect our freedom, by standing up for what’s right. We need to protect our name. “A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches, and loving favour rather than silver and gold.” (Proverbs 22:1) We need to protect our testimony, by living clean and holy. “But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.” (I Peter 1:15-16) We also need to protect our family and our church. We can do this physically if needed, but also with our mouth, by not talking bad about them. Just as we would not want a thief to come and take what’s ours, we need to protect those things that we can lose by open sin, or by carelessness and negligence. Be the one to protect what’s yours!
13. Be The One To Water
Writing these devotions reminded me of one I wrote in 2007, after our second year of Youth Jubilee at Pine Grove Baptist Church. I want to share it today as a reminder to us to be the one to water.
The last plate had been served. The last cup of iced tea had been poured. Everyone was busy: washing dishes, wiping tables, stacking chairs, and bagging trash. We collected salt and pepper shakers and then I started gathering the glass jars of red, white, and blue flowers to put away for another day. One little boy came up to me and said, “Those are pretty flowers. You just gotta keep watering and watering.” I carried those jars to the shelf and as I went back for more he said again, “You just gotta keep watering and watering.” He then turned and ran off to join the other kids. I had to make one more trip and when I got to the corner table, and picked up the last jar, there was about two inches of water in the blue marbles in the bottom of the jar. I laughed as I showed it to the women in the kitchen and repeated the little boy’s words, “Those are pretty flowers. You just gotta keep watering and watering.” In his way, this small child tried to help as he watered the flowers. As I thought on this I remembered these words of Paul in I Corinthians 3:6-8, “I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase. So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase. Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour.” I want to thank each of you who had a part in the Youth Jubilee. We all labored together. The Word of God, the precious seed, was planted in the hearts of these young boys and girls. Others watered, and God gave the increase. Thank you for your prayers and support. Thank you for the unity you showed as you all worked together in “one accord” for the Lord’s work. Thank you for cooking and cleaning, and giving your time and talents for God’s glory. All through the week, as the preachers and singers planted the seed, you kept watering, and watering, the garden of pretty flowers. And you did it with smiling faces, even when I didn’t have my camera in hand. Thank you! God only knows how these lives will bloom… and you helped water.
14. Be The One To Help
The Apostle Paul was speaking of unity in the church when he talked about the different gifts. In I Corinthians 12:11 he said, “But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.” We all have a gift. You may not be a preacher or a teacher. You may not be able to sing or play a musical instrument. Let’s look at the gifts mentioned in verse 28. “And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues.” You may not feel like you have an important gift, but there is a gift that is needed just as much as the other, more notable gifts. That is the gift of “helps”. Our Pastors and Preachers can’t do all the work in the church. They need helpers. Sunday School teachers and youth leaders need helpers. When your church is planning a meeting, or fellowship, and you don’t know what to do, offer to be the one to help. I always enjoyed planning activities for the youth at church. One of the most memorable summers was the year that I asked church members to come to our weekly meetings and teach the young people something. The kids were shown first aid, how to sew on a button, tie different types of knots, make a pie, make homemade ice cream, and many more interesting things. It was great to have the older church members help teach the younger ones something different as they passed down their knowledge. If you are trying to find a place to fit in, it would be a good time to be the one to help!
“4 Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.
5 And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord.
6 And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all.
7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.
8 For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit;
9 To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit;
10 To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:
11 But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.” (I Corinthians 12:4-11)
15. You Can Be The One
I have enjoyed finding scriptures that encourage us to “Be The One”. It is time for us to move on to a new theme, but I wanted to mention a few more ways we can “Be The One”.
Be The One Lost Sheep That Was Found
“4 What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it?
5 And when he hath found it, he layeth it on his shoulders, rejoicing.
6 And when he cometh home, he calleth together his friends and neighbours, saying unto them, Rejoice with me; for I have found my sheep which was lost.” (Luke 15:4-6)
Be The One To Give Thanks
“16 And fell down on his face at his feet, giving him thanks: and he was a Samaritan.
17 And Jesus answering said, Were there not ten cleansed? but where are the nine?
18 There are not found that returned to give glory to God, save this stranger.” (Luke 17:15-18)
Be The One To Fight For The Cause Of Right
David’s oldest brother stood against David when he wanted to fight against the giant, “And David said, What have I now done? Is there not a cause?” (I Samuel 17:29)
Be The One To Give What You Have To The Lord
“9 There is a lad here, which hath five barley loaves, and two small fishes: but what are they among so many?
10 And Jesus said, Make the men sit down. Now there was much grass in the place. So the men sat down, in number about five thousand.
11 And Jesus took the loaves; and when he had given thanks, he distributed to the disciples, and the disciples to them that were set down; and likewise of the fishes as much as they would.
12 When they were filled, he said unto his disciples, Gather up the fragments that remain, that nothing be lost.
13 Therefore they gathered them together, and filled twelve baskets with the fragments of the five barley loaves, which remained over and above unto them that had eaten.” (John 6:9-13)
Be The One To Step Out On Faith
“28 And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water.
29 And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus.
30 But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me.
31 And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?” (Matthew 14:28-31)
Be The One To Choose The Lord
“And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.” (Joshua 24:15)
Be The One To Show Kindness
“And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.” (Ephesians 4:32)
